IRRIGATION
Pelican Cove have an automatic irrigation system. It is set up in zones that get activated at different hours. Check "Irrigation Management at PC" to check the irrigation schedule in your zone.
The Board might decide to increase or decrease the irrigation times in all zones due to weather conditions. For instance, in April-May 2021 the Board increased by 5 minutes the irrigation time in all zones at the community due to the underlying drought conditions. Adding 5 minutes more of irrigation to all zones costs about $1500 a month. As time wise the irrigation system cascades from one zone to the next, such increases or decreases in irrigation times could temporarily alter the specific time schedule (see above link of sprinkle zones) with regard to the irrigation time of each particular zone.
IIrrigation Policy (April 2021)
The irrigation schedule is based on the POA's annual budget and follows watering needs that are deemed broadly sufficient for the POA maintained landscaping. On occasions, the POA will add additional times to the irrigation schedule for the community as a whole. These decisions are not based on the needs of an individual unit owner, but to address a community-wide irrigation need. For instance, when a drought is being faced and the POA landscaping requires more water.
Owners that feel their landscaping might require additional water will need to rely on their own water supply system. As an example, many owners have temporarily installed drippage systems connected to their own water hoses (with and without a timer system) or arranged for after hours watering by the staff of the POA's landscaping service provider.
Broken irrigation lines and sprinkler heads DO NOT increase the water bill of the POA. Broken lines and sprinkler heads only result in uneven irrigated grounds—not higher water bills.
